It's all stock and I've never felt the need to buy a programmer, exhaust or any of that junk.

I'd buy another without a second thought. On the other hand:

I'd never spend my own $$ on a new diesel. Any of them. They perform great...when they're running right. An extra 7 to 8 thousand dollars for a high-priced gimmicky motor just so I can smell like a kerosene heater & be another diesel guinea pig?? Nah. Not for me.
Seriously, what planet are you from?

All kidding aside, glad you like your gasser, personally, I won't have anything but a Diesel. If it was a gimmick, you would see gas 18wheelers.

Someone, prob a sales guy did a number on you and talked you.

It's probably best to save your breath on this topic...even in the Super Duty forum, you will still get a lot of comments from the peanut gallery about how gassers are better. Remember, this is primarily an F150 website. In my opinion, if it doesn't have a diesel, it isn't a real truck. Most people who talk bad about them have never driven them and have no idea what they are talking about. I am sure you know which forums have real truck guys.

I did have a F150 before I got my F250, but I am still here on this forum for 2 reasons. The care and detail section and the Audio.

There are some good folks here.

Most of my neighbors have F250's and one of them as the V10, he kicks his *** b/c he didn't get a PSD. He tows a hydro mulching machine and gets 5-6 mpg when towing that beast.

My PSD pulls my 5er like a shadow.

Same here...I had my '04 F150 until I bought this truck and I like hanging out here occasionally. I have started to diversify though, going to the more diesel-oriented sites.

I'm not going to argue the point of a diesel, they are awesome, but here's a few things for the diesel guys to choke on. I'll agree that diesel's have a wicked amount of power, but we have 4 6.0 Diesels at the company I work for, and they have all been in the shop numerous times. ( 2 04 models, and 2 06 models) I know a lot of other people that have them also, and have had nothing but trouble from them. The company just bought 2 08 F-250's to replace two of the 04 6.0's that have been more than "problamatic" both the 08's have the V10's instead of the diesels. Main reason is because we also have 3 trucks with V10's and they have been practically matinence free with more towing miles. Plus who can trust the 6.4L Diesel in its first year after having that 6.0L fail so many times? Don't get me wrong, the 6.0 is a powerhouse, and I drove a 6.4L and loved it, but those new 3V V10's in the 08's are awesome, more than enough power for a 10,000 pound load. So all I'm saying is get what you want, weather it be V10 or diesel, but the V10 is definately no push over in the 3/4 ton's.

That's true...but there's one thing you just can't get with the V10. That glorious whistle of the twin turbos.

ditto Hillhound (and Josh)

I think his comment might come from the fact that most diesel buyers out there (except the semi's) buy their trucks for some status thing and really don't even need the diesel anyway.

Oh yeah - this is the F150 Online web, but the this topic had something to with the 6.8L V10...don't remember seeing the word 'diesel' or 'versus' in it. Relax - to each his own already

yeah I never pull my fifth wheel camper. Bought that for status too. All the neighbors think I am loaded now. Mission accomplished.

C'mon dude, are you serious?

May I remind you that you are posting in the F250 section?

Hey bro you should tap the brakes a little calling people out.

Comments like this given your post count won't win you any friends here.

Sounds like YOU may be the one with the complex around here.

Lighten up...we are all hear to help but when you get your feelings hurt then start calling people out you should expect a few witty retorts.

Wow, that sounds like the words of a person who wishes he could have afforded the diesel!

I towed a trailer 600 miles on Saturday...but I guess that doesn't count. I am just glad that my fuel mileage doesn't drop to 5 MPG when I tow anything with any size. I towed a 5000 lb car on a 5000 lb flat bed trailer from Milwaukee to Nashville back in June and still got over 12 MPG. Go tow 10,000 lbs with your V10 and tell me what you fuel mileage was.

I have nothing to prove with my truck...I bought it for me. As a matter of fact, I only have a couple of friends who drive big trucks. I'm not trying to impress anyone...I just try to please myself.

I think you will notice a big difference between the 5.4L and 6.8L when towing on those long hills. I have a 6.8L and no complaints, it holds its speed under load well

freekyfx4...no a diesel isn't for me nor do I want or need one. I don't care about gas mileage - if I did I wouldn't bought my truck...Hey, to each his own - I respect the diesel crowd - I absolutely agree with your last paragraph - keep on truckin' man!!

On a side note - you do have a sweet ride!
