Very nice truck, they look much better with the painted front end compared to the chrome look.
The V10 and 4.10's should pull nicely as long as you can keep gas in the tank.

Looks nice, don't think I'd want the diesel with the fire problems they have been having.

Looks like you fell in to the media trap of sensationalization, it makes for a better story when you have pics and a video of flames. There were alot more serious problems with the 6L when it first came out but its problems didn't come with a catchy headline and a pic.

i can get 11mpg-12mpg with my v-10, not much worse than 14mpg i was getting with my f-150. the v-10 is a great motor. my mileage didn't even suffer when i put wheels and tires on it.

Dumb question alert....

Why do the new 250's have that "intake" on the front fenders? Or is it just cosmetic?

If it was for the PSD to get more air I get that, but on a V10 what would be the purpose? Same thing?

congrats on your new truck btw....

Thanks guys, really like the truck so far. The only thing that I don’t like is the fact that it doesn’t have a outside temp reading. I got the V10 since I don’t want or need a diesel pickup. I was originally planed on just getting the 5.4 put the salesman talked me out of it. As far as the fender intake holes I believe they are functional but I can’t really tell.

Such small mirrors on a beast of a truck. Did you not want the extendable towing mirrors. I love mine even when not towing. Nice colors!!

Yep, exactly. Just got my '04 a little while ago, and so far have gone through four full tanks of gas. Pretty much all similar driving - some freeway, some city, and so far, it's been exactly 11.5 mgp calculated out. Almost every time, 11.5 (my calculator goes out to four decimal places so it's actually kind of weird how close it is every time).

My 2006 F-150 5.4L Triton with the 3.73 gears was getting 12.75. I'll take the quietness, 12,500 lb towing and sheer size for 1.25 mgp....

Let's face it, MPG sucks but boy that truck is sweet....Congrats

THIS WHOLE FIRE THING WAS WAY OVER EXSAGGERATED!!!! really!!!! 3 trucks out of 32,000 did it cause of other problebs with the eng...fords mistake was not having a fail safe when there was afailure that caused extra fuel to get in the exsaust during regeneration of the DPF, you see being the 1st to do this they took a risk and i think it took *****. the reflash of comt just puts in a set of parameters if this set of things happens to power down, just like if any vech. has any failure that MAY cause a big prob. now all the other companies that have a sys like this will follow suit and ford just gets bad press cause they tried it 1st.....flame away(no pun intended)lololo...these are all just my obsevations and deductions from reading up on the matter. yes i have one. ford sent me 1000.00 after i bought to thank me for takin a chance!!!

Steve V,
I got the mirror on ebay, I paid around $26.00 plus shipping. No brand name is on the mirror, box, or paper work. The sellers store on ebay is Advance Mcs Electronics, do a search as "AUTO DIMMING MIRROR COMPASS TEMPERATURE ICE ALERT" and it should come up. Two wires run from the UV sensor mounted in a special license plate bolt and two wires for the temp sensor run from inside the plastic housing under the bumper. Ran all four wires along the drivers side engine compartment to the fire wall. There all 2 small cut outs in the fire wall covered by thick foam tape, I removed the tape and ran the wires through these holes and under the dash. Ran the 4 wires up the pillar and into the headliner. Ran 3 wires (hot, acc, ground) from the mirror, under the headliner, down the pillar, and to the fuse box. The wires are bundled tightly so only a few inches of encased wired shows coming from the headliner to the main multi-pin plug that goes into the back of the mirror. The wires are less noticable than the OEM factory dimming mirror that was on my previous F-150. Hopes this helps.
