Talking 2006 6.0 dealer reflashed program for engine

I just had my 2006 f250 6.0 for the first scheduled maintenance and the dealer had a recal to flash the computer for the engine control, now when I turn the truck off the injector pump runs for 30 sec then stops That is to help with smoother starts after the engine cools down. It's different hearing something running while you are walking away from your truck at a store. has anyone had any problems with this flash or is there a problem with starts by not having the flash, the truck runs great with plenty of power and getup and go.

Yup, had the same reflash done on my '06 F250 last month. I've had people walk by my truck in the parking lot after I shut it down staring at it wondering if this thing's gonna blow. Nope, just flushing the injectors. It helps out quite a bit up here in Alaska, it's -41 F right now, so when I start it up, it takes less revolutions of the engine before it fires up.

Glad you got it done. Now you need to buy the brand new Magnaflow 4" exhaust I have for it in my garage and you will be set to go...Seriously, I have a brand new in the box 15950 stainless exhaust that I will let go very cheap just to get it out of the garage. Had someone order it and then they sold thier truck so I took it back.....email me at quiktrk@neo.rr.com..

I called my Dealer and he told me there were no new flash for my 2005 F350 6.0 and I would have to pay out of pocket for any! Then he asked me if I was having a problem or any codes? When I told him no I just wanted it updated. He hung up on me! $45,000.00 truck and I got that type of reply? Is there a number or something so when I call for a dealer I can ask them?

I think I would have words with the service manager of that dealership. What type of service is that?

I would also like to ask about the update so if you have the info for it let us know.

Ford has changed the computer update for the 06 PSD

On Friday (3/16/07) I had my 06 PSD reflashed. Instead of noise of the oil being prurged out of the injectors it now heats the oil up before you start the engine and continues heating until the motor warms up.

I believe the back of your owners manual has Ford's Customer Service Line. Call them and explain what you think of the customer service your dealership is giving you.

I don't know what you're saying stays running after you turn off the truck, but I can guarantee you 100% that its not the injector pump. Pure and simple, the PSD has never had such a thing. The last time an injection pump was put on a Ford diesel was back in 94. Your injectors are oil driven, additionally the hpop that drives them is a gear driven and thus cannot run after the engine shuts down.
