Alright guys heres the deal I currently own a 99 f150 5.4 4x4, I run two landscapping companys so I will be plowing in the winter and towing a 20ft trailer with mowers and all the good stuff on it.I wasnt in the market for a new truck but I came upon a 2005f250 crewcab diesel for $29,500 w/ 31000 miles. The truck is the XLT version and pretty much has all the options including a Bully dog intake and 4" exhaust w/5"tip. I was wondering what kind of mpg. you guys our getting with yours and how reliable they are. I tired of gettin 12-11mpg with the f150.

While I don't own one, I've read that many 6.0 PSD's are not great for fuel mileage. So you may not be gaining anything in the mileage area. Not sure if you can find someone to run one for you, but try to get an OASIS report from the VIN. This will show you what sort of warranty and all work was performed on the truck. Very important with the 6.0 PSD to understand if you're looking at one with problems or not. I think there are folks on www.thedieselstop.com who can help you with the OASIS report. Or you could try www.thedieselgarage.com some like that better.
Don't forget that diesels cost more to maintain and the cost of fuel is no longer a bargin.
Not all 6.0 PSD's are bad. Just do your homework.
Best of luck on your purchase
