Diesel version of Lightning.... F250 Thunder
After all the body work etc...they did, I would think they would have done something radical with the engine but oh well. From the part I read seems like they just put a bullydog system on the stock 7.3L engine.
Only thing is to do a wild engine it would cost a small fortune and it would never bring enough money at sale to cover it. Chip, intake, and exhaust is gonna run $750 to $1000. Turbo add another $1600 if its a ball bearing unit, $2200 if its an H2E. Fuel system is about $500-1000 to do it right. Injectors are very spendy depending on how you do it. Then add head studs to hold em down. Dual hpo system to feed the new fuel needs. Plus then $4000 for a good trans to hold all the hp. To do a wild engine on a 7.3L you're $10k to $15k real quick, and I doubt that it would bring enough to even break even on that cost on ebay.
nice truck and all....
but if you ask me something about it just doesn't look right. A lowered F-250 with low profile road tires?

Hmm, I agree, a low profile Super Duty seems wrong. Oh well, who am I to judge. I do think the idea of a diesel hot rod truck is pretty sweet. With many modified diesels pushing 500hp/700lb-ft or more you could haul some serious booty...and get almost 20mpg on the highway. Sounds like a good combo to me.

i was kinda thinkin along these same lines the other day,
Take a reg lightning, and put the Supercrew 5.5 foot bed on it, shorten like 8" out of the wheel base, and with a roll pan drop off like 1.5 feet of total truck length. Plus i think it would be cool to have a fleetside Lightning.
You can even keep the clear Lightning tails if you want.

man, i just registered to let yall know that seeing this truck in person makes all the difference in the world. on paper, spending all that time/money looks rediculous... ive had a couple friends with dropped 05 cummins on 22's, bagged and laying frame that can still tow whatever they need...
and i just saw this truck in the walmart parking lot off of dallas north tollway and park - let me say that i was utterly confused. it sounded like a mean deisel, but looked like a f150 with a f250 front clip, it definetely got my attention and made me wonder, so i had to come home and do some research - and now here i am.

Yeah, I built the F250 Thunder that was seen in Dallas. And also thought about shortening a lightning, then thought about using the left over parts to buils a strech super crew using the lightning bed. Sound like fun?
