Engine chips and tunners

What are the reliable chip products out there, i.e. what is the most bang for the buck?

Also, are there chips out there that after you install them, you don't have to worry about the rest of your drive train under normal driving?

Thanks for any help.

To avoid worrying about the rest of the drivetrain you're looking at 40-60hp max. Anything above that you're looking at trans upgrades to hold the HP. Chips will give you multiple power settings that can be changed on the go for about $600 and can go as high as 140-160hp. They're also custom burned for your specific truck and the mods you have. Tuners can't be changed on the go and only go about as high as 100hp but cost around $350. The 4R100 in stock form is not known for holding hp very well, but in modified form is capable of holding high hp.

Keep in mind that if you install ANY chip or programmer its imperative that you add an EGT and boost guage. Some trucks even in stock form can high redline EGTs, let alone with increased fuel tables.
