OK, thanks to all the help on my other question I decided to order a F250 CC 4x2 going to get the v10 unless I have to wait forever then I'll get the v8.

My question is some people are saying 5 or 6 months to get an order. I am going to send faxes out to local dealers this Wed. & see who has the allotment & how long it will take to get the truck. If it does take 5-6 months should I just wait for the 2001? When would be the soonest I could order a 2001? What month are they announce, or to they ship in?

I haven't heard yet when the 2001's are coming out. But I would think that with the big slow down/back up on filling SD orders that it may not be to much longer. As far as there being a particular month that this is done, no, I don't think Ford works it that way. Hopefully, someone here has a better insite as to how/when this process is accomplished.

You might want to take a look over at www.ford-diesel.com. In their forum, they have a section just for the ordering process. They night have some info for you there.

Just ordered a 2000 F250 5.4, my dealer is not sure if the factory is still taking orders. I have talked with numereous dealers, the results: "only large dealers are able to order", "not taking orders", "sure, we can guarantee 90% order acceptance and delivery in 10-12 weeks". I have called Ford and emailed, the call resulted in them telling me to ask my dealer, no response to email yet. Bottom line, is Ford switches over in July to the 01 model with delivery in the Fall, at least that is what I heard. I expect to hear from my dealer in the next couple days as to whether or not the Factory took the order. Think it sucks that it takes 10-12 days to get an order confirmed and sucks that there might be a possibility the truck would not be built.

 

quzax, I just picked up my F-250SD V-10 on Wednesday. While I was at dealer the sales woman made the comment that they couldn't take anymore 2000 orders and could only take 2001 orders. Don't know if it is true but thought you'd like to know. BTW I ordered mine on 15 December 1999 and received it on 26 April 2000.

My dad wants to order a new Superduty 350 with a diesel and one 5.4l and decide then which to get, dealer told him it would be 6 months to get it. Guess we'll wait longer

 

Recv'd confirmation that my order for an F250 SD 5.4l (Loaded) was accepted Friday (the 4th). The dealer is advising delivery in 10-12 weeks, although they expect it sooner. I was told by another source that orders are being taken for the '00 until June 1st and that they will build until change over to the '01 production or parts run out.
