New 6.0 PSD Problems......
I have 2003 F-350 Super Duty With the all new 6.0L PSD which by the way has crazy amounts of power. I have some minor problems which I'm sure alot of people are having and I'm sure there is a fix already.
1.) When your at a stop in drive with the brakes on its fine if you let go of the brake and don't hit the throttle the truck surges big time (600RPM Down to 400-350RPM) and chugs like its gonna stall, until you give it some throttle. This happens cold or warm all the time and its really anoying and sounds like the motor is going to stall.
2.) I know its still a diesel but I live in northern Ontario and It's been a cold winter but when this thing starts cold it sounds like its gonna come apart (Like theres a ball peen hammer in the valve covers). I also have a 1995 7.3 PSD Dually ands it sounds helthier when first started in the mornings (When it starts).
3.) I have had a few situations when I am going to take off hit the throtle and NOTHING no power at all, as if the cable broke. Then eventually come back.
4.) I don't know what they did to the brakes for 03' but the pedal feel sucks. I had one time a real wierd problem happen where I hit the brakes pretty hard and the anti-Lock sound wouldn't go away and stayed that way for five minutes and I could pull over but the brakes werent staying on at all, then when you would touch the brakes they were really touchy. This problem only happened once then went away but overall pedal feel for 03 suck compared to my old 99' and 01'.
I am very upset about all these stupid problems but do love the new motor but only when it's warm its so quite once it's warm, but like I said I swear it's louder than the old 7.3 for the first 20 Mins of being cold. So it doesnt seem many people have this new 6.0 yet but I would like some comments of anyone if possible.
Thanks...
