Hate to say it, but....

My name's Big Hersh, and I'm a truck-a-holic.

Man, after seeing more & more 03 Expy's on the road, as much as I disliked the front end in May 2002, in September- I can honestly say- it's starting to grow on me. I like the huge mirrors, the turn signals still appear to be an after-thought- but I may like them by December, who knows.

I still wish Ford had stayed with the 5 x 135mm bolt pattern, and hadn't teased us with the console mounted gear shifter in teh Navi, then put it on the column in the Expy.

Ya dirty guys! You're trying to make us upgrade!

It's working......

I'm with you, the '03 are starting to grow on me too. I just dont link the hole in the front bumper of the new XLT's compaired to the EB's. I like the monochrome looks of the XLT's better, but I wished they put the grill in the bumper like they do in the EB's. Anyway, here is one with a billet grill:

Niiiice!

Man, I said to myself that new Expy, especially the double-grilled EB, would look nice with a billet or speed grill attached...

Now, the front end doesn't look funny- it looks awesome, especially with those headlights!

Thanks for the picture!

Sad, that I'm answering my own post-

But, I went to get my Speed grill installed on my S'Crew today
(Got 'em on both now) and what to my wandering eyes would appear?

A 2003 Expy parked next to a 2000ish Expy EB-

The 2003 actually looks bigger, and sits taller- and having them parked side by side, for the first time (I can't believe I'm gonna say it) it actually looks good!

Those big, clear lense headlights, the interior even looks sweeter- I have a 2000 Expy that I love, so I don't say this lightly....

The 2003 is a bit more business/no-nonsense oriented than the 2000 I saw it sitting next to; but, seeing them side by side- Ford, you done good. Couldda been better- but, ya done good!

I like the "Double Chin" you gave the 03 EB- (Two grills) nice touch.... I'd have to get a black one though.....

It's human nature to resist change. We get use to one look and then all of a sudden they change things and give it a different look. I have a 94 Mustang GT convertible, and when the 99's came out, I didn't care for them at all. They took all of the beautiful smooth lines and made them kind of choppy with various angles (kind of what they have done to the Expy/Navi). After seeing a few of the new Mustangs customized and geting use to seeing more of them, I really like the look now. It just takes a little longer to get use to a new look, that's why I reserved any comments about the look until I was able to see a few customized. They are looking pretty good.

I get a little tired of some of the comments about the Expy looking like a bigger Explorer. I tend to look at it as the Explorer looks like a smaller version of an Expy. Maybe it's the difference between looking at a cup as half full, instead of looking at the same cup as half empty.

I'm sure it won't be long before we see all sorts of custom Expy's and Navis running the streets, and we will all be envious of the ones with the newest toys.

Test drove a '03 today,4x4, XLT, 5.4, 3.73, 17" rubber, what a massive improvement over the previous generation. The only thing they share is the name and the same blah motor. Was completely amazed with the handling, how predictable in the corners and on gravel, and none of the swaying from crosswinds or poor condition highways.
Another 50-75hp, or lower gears (both prefferably!) and I would of been sold.
