Unhappy 00' Expedition Ugly window molding

The sun, rain and general weather have not been kind to the black plastic moldings located at the base of the side windows on my Expedition. I have tried armorall and other plastic sprays/finishes with no luck, they just look bad. Does anyone know if the Navigator chrome strips can be fitted to an Expedition?

Yes they can and several people have done this mod. Do a search and you will find more than enough info about this. If your truck is still under warranty, take it in first and have the molding replaced. This is a very common problem for the expeditions and most people have had them replaced under warranty including myself, then put the Navigator chrome strips on.

If you want to cheap out (like I did), get some Turtle Wax Black, get some latex gloves and put on 3-4 coats in the shade. Turned out okay. Now I keep up with it (every month or so) and it's much easier. Don't forget the gloves.....it takes DAYS to get the dye off.

Had mine replaced at about 1 year covered by warranty. The replacements are sooo much better (about 2 years since they were replaced). I don't think they are very expensive if you were to buy the new ones, assuming it's not under warranty anymore.
