Got a 03 today with 0%

Went to local dealer today and bought the wife a 03 expy with 0% for 36 months. Ford has not announced it as of yet, but it's coming and the dealer was able to give it to me today. I got a great trade on the 02 Yukon that I bought 7 months ago and my wife hated it. She's happy now!!!! The truck rides and drives very good. I still wish it had as much power as the Yukon though.

Congarts on the good deal!

Which motor did you get?

I suggest you call Mike Troyer or 'click' on his link here at this site (Performance) as he can help you out real quick with regards to getting more power.

I would suggest a SuperChip and Dual 16" Electric Fan kit for starters.

The deal was much better on the 4.6, but I got the 5.4 anyway. I have a superchip in my 99 F-150 and I may get one for this later. It's the wife's car, so she does not need too much power. I hope it's as good as our last one and my truck.

Good choice. I got my free $75 gift brochure today and went down to the local dealer to test drive. I got a 03 EB which was loaded. Nice! The 5.4 had great power and the ride was much more controlled than the previous model.

Well, I posted this message on thursday when I brought the truck home. Sat, I went to finalize the paperwork and guess what I found out: No 0% on 03 expy. I was fairly upset because the salesman had said it was 0%. I had the truck for two days by then so I left and told them I would bring it back and not buy it. About 30 minutes after I left the salesman called me and said he got me an extra 1500 dollars for my trade so I got it for 4.99% for 48 months. They really seemed like they wanted to sell it very bad. I traded a 02 Yukon that I bought for 30354 with a 2002 rebate. I got X plan price on the expy and 27800 for the Yukon which was 8 months old with 13200 miles. That's alot more than I was expecting on the trade!!!

The salesman I talked to told me 0% financing on 2003 as well...must look at that fine print.

I'm having a hard time deciding what to get. It seems the GMC has better pickup than the Expedition or the Sequoia, but the Expedition has a better ride/handling and options. Can you comment on the difference between your Yukon and the Expedition as well as why you traded it so soon?

Sure: In the motor department the Yukon which is not nearly as heavy is the hands down winner. The 5.3 gm engine feels very good especially in the regular sized Yukon

Driver and middle seat comfort the expy wins very easily and the ride and handling is much better. The main reason I traded was it's for my wife and she never really like the Yukon. If you test drive one you will notice the steering wheel and the guages are a little off center with where you sit. They are moved over to the right a little and she just felt very uncomfortable. I also had a hard time getting the front end aligned. It pulled to the right very hard and I took it in twice. It got better, but never 100%. The expy is bigger and it's just alot more comfortable and I actually like Fords better.

I think Ford is offering 0% - 36 month financing for the 2003 Explorer. That may be the root of confusion.

i suspect it'll be happening soon

Since GM just started the 0% on '03's I can't imagine Ford being too far behind.

WSJ was talking about buying cars and they mentioned the 0% Financing. GM is offering 0% for 60 months on their 2003 models, where Ford is only offering 0% for 36 months on selected 2003 models. If any of you are in the market for a 2003 Expedition, I would encourage you to wait until around (just after) Xmas as they most likely will be trying to unload what they have.
