If you put it under the seat you might try doing it on the pessenger front. I don't think you could get it under the 2nd row cause the clearance with the seat folded down. Another idea if you're handy with things is to try fitting it into the center console. I've had the one in my 99 XLT appart and there is all kinds of room under there. You can take it apart by removing the screws in the back of the lid, then removing the screws that hold the back of the console on. the back should then pop off with the that hold it on the bottom. Then you can see how much room is under there and how it all fits together. If you're not going to fold down the 2nd row ever then under the seat there is probably the easiest. I think that is where the ford installed system puts the VCR unit.
