Angry I Think My Dealership Is Trying To Kill Me!

For the second time in a month I took my 2001 Expy E.B. to the dealership (in Redford, Michigan) for service on my electrical system. My automatic headlight feature and my O/D switch on the end of shift lever would not work. I replaced the #29 5A fuse myself after the auto headlights stopped working (yes I was driving when they shut off) but the new fuse blew within 2 minutes. To make a long story short, after picking the truck up I tried the O/D switch. The light on the fob illuminated once and went dead again. I spun the truck right back into the service bay to talk to someone about the problem and got to actually speak to a shop foreman, well I shouldn't say speak to. He looked at the paperwork for a second then asked one of the service reps if they had an alternate vehicle for me to drive home. He didn't try to make me feel he was concerned in the least about this being the third time my truck would be in the shop for the same problem. The bast@#$ didn't even look at me. After releasing a little stress verbally, I told them I'd have the problem taken care of somewhere else. In the last two days I noticed glitches in the gauges. On start up the oil pressure icon and the engine coolant icon would illuminate and remain on. Then last night the engine revs at a redlight and almost puts me in the intersection. I checked my fuses to see if any were blown and find my fuse #29 which uses a 5A had been replaced with a 20A AND IT WAS BLOWN! I need suggestions fellas on how I should handle this. My wife is ready to call a lawyer.

No more playing

I had a similar problem with the dealership I bought my motorcycle from. My problem was a bit more serious. They replaced a defective rear rotor and also the pads but forgot to tighten the bolts that hold the caliper on once they were done. This is on my 2000 Suzuki GSF600. The caliper ended up locking up my rear wheel at 40 MPH and I barely kept the bike up... oh by the way, my girlfriend was on the back! This happened in February, they still have not told me when they are going to replace the swingarm that got severly damaged. My lawyer is now handling the issue Don't waste your time. Seems that when attorneys talk with dealerships, things seem to get done a little faster and more to your advantage.

Get a new rig out of the deal.

I'm with G. Andrews...third time is the charm!!!

My dad is partial Jeep Grand Cherokee V8's. He had a black 1996 Limited. Chrysler bought it back because of the lemon law. He replaced it with a gorgeous 1997 Orvis Edition V8, which Chrysler bought back in 2000. He is fairly happy with the 2000 model although the rear has been rebuilt twice.

Lemon Law.........go with it.

After 3 calls to the dealership they're trying to buy the truck back but I put 6 months of payments into this truck not to mention the mods. I going to have to ask for more that just a new truck and a new full term payment plan even though the 0% financing is tempting. I'll keep you guys updated.
