Question Shocks for 99 Expy.

I just bought a 99 Eddie Bauer Expedition with 45k on it and it feels like the factory shocks have given up the ghost. I won't be towing anything so I am just looking for the best ride i can possibly get.
What brand of shocks do you guys think gives the best ride?

Thanks,

Jamie

I think is you remove "softest ride I can find" from your post you might get some takers on your question. Most of us would like to stiffen up take the bounce out a little of our Expy's...

Hope this helps....

Just put Bilsteins on a few weeks back to replace worn out stocks. Ditto dfwbmw post above about 'softest ride'. I needed desperately to firm up the ride to eliminate porpoising down the interstate.

Extremely happy with the Bilsteins thus far. Just towed our trailer for the first time with them this weekend and many of the previously 'white knuckle' portions of potholed interstate were handled with ease.

This topic has been covered several hunderd times. Go to the suspension board and you'll get your fill of shock opinions.

Most agree that if you go with Rancho 9000's, Edelbrock IAS's, or Bilsteins you'll be doing just fine. All are superb shocks and all cost between $60-$70 each. Rancho 5000's are good shocks very firm.
