I'm intersted to know if a rear air deflector actually does anything, or is just for looks. I have a lot of gravel road dust that builds up in the rear window, and driving on a wet road, or in mist water I get water build up, and was curious if one of these would help reduce this buildup.

 

It sure seems like the dirt buidup on the rear window is minimized by the rear air deflector.
