Got an 01 Expedition xlt AWD today with 5.4. Its my first 4 wheel and Im new here as well. I have wanted one of these as a toy for some time but couldnt justify it until now. Any way I have some plans to upgrade certain things in time but would like to know where to start as far as performance is concerned. Currently this is stock.

I want more power with fuel economy in mind. Where do I start?

Welcome! You may want to look into a programming device, such as an SCT with some custom tunes. There are a lot of things you can do though, you'll find plenty as you poke around and get familiar with the site. Feel free to post in the individual forums that are for the F150s too, as your Expy is largely the same for many things.

Congrats on the new SUV. Just as kmac said above a hand held tuner is a good place to start. All mods that apply to the 99-03 pick ups will work on your rig.

welcome to the site and congrats on the purchase. If it were me I would start with headers, CAI, exhaust and a good tune. BUT... before all that I would make sure all safety equipment is in perfect working order and your brakes are upgraded. Due to exuberance of new horsepower you need to be able to stop faster than you can go. Drilled and slotted brakes with ceramic pads is a massive improvement over stock and will get rid of the famous brake fade of our trucks. Now many will tell you that they make no difference but I actually have had both and speak from personal experience on this matter and won't blow smoke up you ars either. Some will hate me and some will agree, The ones that agree probably did the same upgrade and know.
