Lost the Keys to my Expedition 1999 how do i get the Ignition out with out the Keys and with out screwing up the steering corlum?

 

Drill out the cylinder and replace it with a new one (with new keys).

 

Thanks I was not sure if the Keys had a chip in them in 99.

 

Oops. Yes, they do. It just got more complicated.

 

Call the dealer, they will make you a new key for $150ish probably.

 

If the vehicle is open, you could take the cylinder off the driver door to a locksmith. Have them cut a new key. It won't start the vehicle but it will turn the ignition to the "on" position for you. This is assuming you aren't close to any mobil locksmiths.

No matter what you do it may still have to go to the dealer to re-program the pats for the new keys.

If so then spend the extra bucks and get a spare. If you have 2 working pats keys then you can program extras yourself much cheaper.
