new expedition?

Ok, i have been a ford guy for a long time now but don't know what suv to get. I am stuck between a yukon and an expedition. I really like the features of the expedition but would like some pros and cons from expedition owners. You don't have to sell me on ford being better than chevy cause i am a ford owner and ford guy, so just let me know pros and cons from personnal experiences on the 2009 or 2010 expedition. Thanks.

The truck is for sale for $20,000 but it doesn't have to go. I know it only books for about $15,000 but I have much time and extras in it. I am getting rid of my 2007 Infiniti G-35 in order to get the SUV for more room.

I have an 05. They new ones are not much different. The flat folding read seat is a huge advantage. I can't imagine have to remove the seat on a Tahoe after five years with our Expy. You can't imagine how many times you will fold/unfold the rear seat in weekly driving.

The third seat folding flat sold me on the expy over the tahoe. I also thought that the instrument panel was nicer on the expy. Add all of that to the fact that the ford was cheaper withmore options and I was sold!

3rd row leg room, Expy wins hands down. The GM's have the hump that comes up at the 3rd row, the Expy's are flat all the way through. Better transmissions as well in the Expy.

Anyone know where to get the best deal? Right now the best I have found is 46,409 + tax tag and title. this is for a 2010 expedition limited 4x4 with the every option you can have and center row bucket seats. thanks.

Start e-mailing dealerships at the largest cities around your area. You will be shocked at the prices you are quoted. I was about to buy one from Atlanta when my local dealership decided they could come off the price $8000 also.

not yet. My wife wants a tahoe. I like the looks of them but hate the rear seat setup. Also i am a ford guy, and the expedition limited i am looking at has more options for a better price. still undecided and still havn't sold my wifes infiniti g35 either.

I like the new Tahoe's also. I think it's because the styling reminds me of Expy.

When I did my shopping 3 years ago for a used suv it came down to the Yukon, Escalade, Expedition/navigator. I can’t quote new sense I was only looking for used knowing I would be dumping a ton of cash moding it the way I wanted. I ended up with a 01 expo 4x4 EB.

Now I can say the expos have more room new and old ones vs. either gm product. The expos seem to have a better turning radius as well.

Cons to the Cadillac not real 4x4 just awd and nothing more =(
No dame room in the cargo area of either gm

But that’s where the comparisons stop. Even the 32v 5.4L in the navi could not come close to the seat of the paints feel the 01-04 Tahoe’s and escalades I drove had.

I love the TQ that the 6.0 GM made. Night and day dif from the 5.4 sohc and dohc engine.

Determining factor for me was price. All the GMS fetch more here in NV for some reason??? In the end I spent 14K on the expo which was a few years older then all the gms I looked at but the miles where lower and I didn’t have to spend in excess of 20K on a used suv.

Final thoughts. If I had to do it over again I would have waited longer and got something with a better foundation with HP in mind. With every thing I’ve done to this expo I could have been many HP ahead with a gm 6.0 as the foundation.

Power to dollar ratio is in big favor of gm large suv’s hands down vs. any mfg foreign or domestic.

My 2011 expedition limited came in today. Problem is it has no DVD entertainment system in it and they don't want to work with me cause they say there is no more room with them giving it to me for 46,700 OTD. I'm thinking of just trying to give me $1,000 somewhere, either on my trade in or some sort of voucher, and i will go put in a good system myself instead of them putting the $2,000 ones in from Ford. I've been working with the dealership for almost a month now on trying to get the vehicle the way my wife wants it and for the price that i want. It is getting exhausting.
