But that’s where the comparisons stop. Even the 32v 5.4L in the navi could not come close to the seat of the paints feel the 01-04 Tahoe’s and escalades I drove had.
I love the TQ that the 6.0 GM made. Night and day dif from the 5.4 sohc and dohc engine.
I'm really sorry to differ with you on the power opinions you offer. I am a certified GM tech and I work on and drive the 6.0 in the GM and I feel you are very mistaken. I work on them all day, but I drive a 5.4 99 F150. I've had a 98, a 99, and 2000 expedition and the 6.0 is close runner but in no way more powerful than the 5.4 32v or 16v for that matter. The 6.0 makes around the same amount of torque but it comes at a much higher RPM than the 5.4. The thing I feel sucks and may be why you feel a power difference is the AWD setup of the 5.4 SOHC and the 5.4 DOHC. It powers all wheels which takes some H.P. away. Also GM sticks 3.73:1 gears in their SUV where as ford commonly uses 3.55:1 (3.73:1 in all navigators though)
P.s. Google search, there is a video on there showing a Navigator 32v destroying a 6.0 Sierra I think it is
