Lightbulb Harley Davidson Expedition - Good/Bad Idea

I love how the HD F-150 looks...and since my Expy EL is blacked out with chrome rims...I've been considering making my own HD Expy.

Here is what I have to work with. Notice the Reddish Leather inserts. close enough to the Harley Orange IMO for Gov't work.

I'm thinking about grabbing 3 HD Fender Emblems, and then sending them off to Billet Badges (he does awesome work...you should see some of his stuff) and having him create custom Emblems that will replicate the 2008 HD F-150 emblems...but say Expy instead.

the 22" HD rims of course...but the ones with the black inserts only, not the 100% chrome ones (see pictures below)

Then have the HD image inserts mounted into my Bucket seats, and the center console with a leather strip & emblem like the F-150 is

As a final exterior touch, the Orange Rocker/bumper stripe, and the Chrome 2" Harley Davidson lettering that came on the 2007/2008 models.

here is a 2008 HD F-150 for reference to what I'm considering

thoughts?

There is an earlier one that runs around town, here, that is silver and black with the emblems, nice wheels and the grille. Looks great and is an eye catcher.

I deploy this weekend, so I can't play with the idea until Christmas unfortunately.

The wife has been given "orders" to find me 3 emblems for now. When I get back I'm going to visit the body shop for quotes about painting the orange stripe.

Need to find a good upholstry shop as well to get those emblem inserts put into the seats.

I figure the most $$$ will be on the rims. I've found new take off HD 22's for $1,100. After shipping they'll cost me $1,500-1,600 total.

This should be good. I've got a bit over a month to photoshop it out and get my list together.

yeah I'd be ditching the OEM 20's to offset the costs a little bit.

not alot of market out here though in Hawaii. after S/H charges it's cheaper for people to buy stuff in the Lower 48 than me ship it to them from here

alright, here is a rough Photoshop. I'll refine it while I'm gone, but I think I like it.

Not sure about the HD lettering on the rear quarter panel though.
the emblem on the door is going to be somewhat large...so it might be overkill and/or tacky to have the lettering

oh yeah, the exhaust is coming. I've been working on the wife since April to get an exhaust.

our last SUV had Flowmaster 40's on it and it was way too loud and she was never happy with all the noise. I'm pushing for a custom Magnaflow SISO...thanks for reminding me about those dual tips. had forgotten the HD's had those

@ Tara
I have talked with Brenspeed about the Saleen blower for my Expy. They seem to be the only shop wanting/willing to make any money. But any FI on the Expy will have to wait until I put the FRPP Whipple on my Mustang in Oct/Nov next year. I'm still recovering from the Roushcharger on my F-150 and buying 2 cars this year

I can see both sides of the argument. But seeing as Ford never did make an HD Expy, I believe I'm in the clear for "poser" status
