Thumbs up

I glad you like it. I thought you would because I know I do.

How did the fit go? Did the rear hanger match up to the stock hanger or did you have to tweak it? How about the exit? Did your's come out where it should? Mine was back a bit far and I had to go back and cut the front of the over the axle pipe. It's much better now. At first, it actualy started rattling against the oem tow hitch bracket. You can see where mines exits now in the pic in my sig. You can click on the Gibson in my sig and see it closer too. Hope my tips helped you get the right fit the first time!

Thumbs up Gibson Swept Side Installed!

Just installed my 2nd catback on my Expy; replacing a Jardine with this Gibson Swept Side. It was exactly what I was looking for! Many thanx to Family Ride for the recommendation and WAV files. It has a nice grumble on the outside, but you can barely hear it on the inside. Perfect. My Airaid intake makes more interior noise!

For you Expy owners who want performance without the interior drone\noise, this is the one. BTW, I ordered it from TruckProducts(I've read the horror stories) and received it inside of 10 days.

Onto the next upgrade...

kptaylor-
I removed the Jardine for two reasons: interior drone at highway speed, and loss of low-end torque. With the Expy, a catback needs to maintain the low-end due to its weight and design. The Gibson does that and more. Also, the Jardine is loud and produced an interior drone at 1800-2000rpm, which is right around 70mph. After 4 months, it drove me nuts. With the Gibson, it's indentical to stock at highway speed.
This is not to say the Jardine is a poor product. I highly recommend it's excellent quality to something with a standard F150 who wants a great rumble(and roar when you step on it!), and it looking for high-end RPM performance.
It's simply a matter of what you are looking for in a catback.

FamilyRide-
Your feedback on the Gibson was the deciding factor on my upgrade. It was everything you claimed it to be, and more. My neighbor(a chief mechanic) did the install for me. He said the install was a piece a cake, and he was impressed with the fit. It does exit a bit further back than OEM, but I'm ok with it. So far, no rubs about the tow hitch.

Boy, did I have fun driving it this weekend!

FR and JMart, What is the best price you guys found on that unit? It sounds like the one I want to get.

Lets see, Gibson cat back, AirForce one and Superchip, that should about do it! hehe

Thanks!

kptaylor & B777-
I order my Hellwig bar and Gibson exhaust from truckperformance.com (not Truck Products...sorry). I know some folks on the board have had bad experiences ordering from them.
My experience was fine. I ordered both at the same time. The Hellwig came inside of a week, and the Gibson inside of 10 days with no issues.

TruckPerformance.Com has the Gibson Swept Side for $289.00. If you want stainless steel, it will run you $420.00.
