Question Fender Flares

I am in the market for OEM fender flares for my 2000 Expedition XLT, however Ford choices include: Tan Eddie Bauer, Grey Metallic Sport Model, and unpainted. I wanted them to match the color of my vehicle and I didn't want to go thru the hassle of painting them. Ford makes matching color flares for the F-150. I know the front fenders are compatible, but no dealer has been able to tell me if any of the F-150's rear are compatible. Does anybody out there know of the which model might have the same specs as the Expedition.

I have the wings west 10pc kits. Got it from Roger at the online store. They come ready for paint and installation is sort of easy and you do not have to drill holes into the side of the fenders like the factory ones.

Silver X, little off topic but when you installed the Pioneer stuff did you retain the rear controls with the VCP?

None of the stock stuff works. I just put the VCP in the arm rest and ran the eye upto the roof console where it says "Expedition" and took the eye out of the case and just drilled a tiny little hole and the rear passengers just have to point it forward and up front just point it up a bit. I have the 12 disc changer and VCP in the arm rest now. You could wire the speakers through the rear controls since the speakers wires are there, so you could plug in the headsets but volume control etc??????......I haven't played with it yet. If you were to grab the speaker wire at the back of the radio I think the headsets work. What are you looking to do?

I'm looking in keeping the rear controls for the kids. If I purchase a Visteon Head unit that will allow the rear seat to listen to CD music on head phones but still let me listen to the front speakers via radio. And if I can purchase a modulator for the VCP, I can just fade out the front speakers for the kids to listen to the movie. Do you have any other suggestions?

That's seems like a good plan since you want to keep the stock stuff. If you search around there are interface units to use but I just can't remember where I saw it.....when I do I will post it.

Question

Silver X, hey I just ordered that same exact 10 piece fender flare set. Have you had any problems with the installation of the bottom 3 piece set? Any problems with them not staying on? I'm going to drill the others so I'm not worried about those, I'm just worrieed about the bottom pieces. Do u have any suggestions

I had no problems at all, cleaned the paint with a prepsol and used a heat gun to heatup the double stick. Once you push it on you will have difficulty getting it off if you screw up so be careful, check twice do it once. I also prefit everything and drilled the holes for the fenders so installing them painted will be easier.
