Question jmartinb, ? about your Edlebrock shocks

jmartinb,

Since you and I have the same Expy pretty much, honestly, what did the shocks do for you? DO you still have that front end rock at higher speeds? What I mean is if I hit a dip in the road at 50MPH+ the front end rocks up and down a couple of times, like hitting a big swell in a boat, well kind of. Normal but really annoying.

Other than that the ride is good stock. Only thing is in the cold, if I really rock the front end like going into a parking lot hard the front shock sound like they're full of bubbles. Probably just weak and the reason for the high speed "swelling".

I can't speak for jmartinb, but I had the same problem with my 4X4 with that bouncing up front. So I purchased my shocks, all that bounce went away. I even felt out of control when it would bounce high up front, mainly on the hiway.

Thumbs up

Thanks hdlouie. That's exactly what it feels like in extreme cases. Dang, here I go again finding excuses to do more mods!!

FamilyRide-
Sorry in my delay for a response...was in NYC for work the last two days. The shocks were my first upgrade, only after 4000 miles on the truck. With my prior experiences with Edelbrocks on my '97 Explorer, I immediately knew they were right for my Expy.

The Edelbrocks reduce not only the front-end "bobbing" problem, but as importantly significantly reduce the lateral "roll" with our vehicle. Also, they give you greater control of our behemoth with emergency maneuvers. They are a worth-while upgrade to your vehicle, and can highly recommend them.

Question

Another question.

I'm not having luck finding a part number for the Edelbrock IAS for my Expy with the rear load leveling. I've emailed Edelbrock so we'll see.

Any else with a 2000 2 wheel drive with tow package that includes the rear load leveling that has the Elebrock IAS shocks?
