Post My first tank of gas

I filled my tank for the first time on my new Expy. Averaged 16.7 MPG in mixed driving. Not to shabby for a green 5.4 engine!

Not shabby at all Tenderpaw. I just rolled 3k on mine and just returned from West Texas. From one stop to the next at 80mph on cruise, 16.2 mpg. I am thrilled to say the least. Let me know if you are considering chipping your Expy. Made a world of difference on mine. Really woke up the 5.4 trying to push such a large sled. Not trying to start any wars, but, I know of a decent dealer for the chips. Just a suggestion.

DD, how about the exhaust on the X? Thinking of changing it? If so which one?

I haven't decided about mods yet. I have to be careful about what I do since this is the wife's car. I'm about 90% sure I'm going to put a Velocity tube on it. I was thinking about a Gibson single exhaust since everyone on the board says its a quiet system. But now I'm thinking of putting in a Flowmaster 70 series muffler only because its cheaper, quiet, and I can keep the stock single stainless steel exhaust. I hate to downgrade from stainless to aluminized. (I know Gibson makes stainless, but its not in the budget).

Now are you guys using the trip computer quoting my MPG or figuring by hand? My computer is consistently higher by 2 mpg.

Thumbs up

I figured it by hand. My Expy doesn't have the trip computer. Had to save some money somewhere!
