Question When not in 4wd, are you in a 2wd or awd mode?
Does most 4wd expeditions 2002 and older have an option to be in 2wd?
Or does it only go to awd?

If its in awd mode then the theory is that you are in 2wd rear until the ABS feels a slip then kicks in the others.
