a ford dealer just told me (probably old news) that on 2004 and ? model expeditions (xlt only!!) that the side mouldings are a recall and will be replaced for free. you have to have the right year, under 36,000 miles and XLT ONLY. no eddie bauer ,limited...etc. my 2004 has faded white washed side molding. nothing will bring the shine back. so a little good news.

Yeah, a member at FTW had them replaced on his 03 model XLT. THe problem is with the gray textured plastic used on the XLT's only.

 

I hope the mouldings on my '05 are recalled as well. They look terrible unless i treat them with something to make them look black.

If it's a recall it shouldn't matter how many miles you have. I wouldn't let a dealer pull that one.

 

got the exp. back today. looks like a new suv! except for some burn or rub marks they left on my bumper!!
