it seems that these exp fx4 are rare because ive looked everywere and have not seem any. wondering if anybody has one and if they have had any problems

 

THe 2003 FX4's are very rare. I can't remember is anyone here has one or not. However, welcome to the site!

 

We have a 2004 NBX model. It's the next (and last) iteration of the FX4 pkg Ford offered on the Expedition. Production of the NBX was cancelled very early in the '05 model year. So they won't be getting any less rare.

As for your question, there's nothing "special" about them that could really go wrong that couldn't go wrong on another model/pkg.

 

A friend at work has one of these,
Does yours make noise when hitting dry pavement in 4WD?
He is complaining of a loud squealing noise when in a non-slip condition and the dealer told him it is a normal sound.
I have never heard a 4WD sound like a belt was slipping in 4WD before.
Any ideas???

 

I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever seen one.

Do they have a special badge or decal?

Now I am going to be looking for them.

Noises are definitely NOT normal. Tell your friend to find another service dept!

I've never seen an FX/4, so I don't know what, if any, identification they have. The NBX model just has THIS BADGE on the rear liftgate.
