Don't those Bilsteins have a lifetime warranty? although that can be a PITA if you bought them online or mail order. I have had good luck with Monroe (Reflex or Magnum) on several vehicles. Purchased locally, lifetime warranty and they have me in their computers so I don't need a receipt to exchange them.

I am referring to the replacement of the stock from shocks. I was thinking that there were some special shocks that had to be used on the front..

Thanks,

Yes, they are special shocks for the LLS. I am curious what choices there are for replacements... other than converting to the regular suspension.

I have a 1997 Expy with LLS in the rear only.

I think the only choices for shocks on a LLS rear are Ford factory replacements, Bilstein or some KYB's that I saw on the Tire Rack's website.

They did not have the air shocks for the front of those in that year? I thought all years had the four corner set-up.

I'm not sure what was available in 97 (I bought my truck from my bro-in-law), but I've only got it in the rear.

Mine's an XLT, perhaps a higher-trim like an EB had it on all four corners in 97 but I'm not sure.

NAPA ONLINE has a shock (NAPA PART # NS 40004 ) that is listed as a specialty shock for front of Expedition with Four Corner Air Leveling System. This must be it. But it is listed at $209. I'm not sure if that's per shock or for the pair. Any other ideas where I can find a replacement, even a ford part ?? Any clue what they go for at the dealerships?? Thanks again.

Joey

I was researching this awhile ago and that is the price for each from NAPA. Unreal as the Ford ones go for around $115 each. Here is a link I saved...

You could try fordpartsonline.com or rockauto.com
Those two sometimes have a good price on things.
