im asking about 1999 explorer, this trucks windows can be opened without the key being in the ignition.

is this normal or is there a problem with the battery, generator etc ???

my brother says the battery, i say short or bad ground ????

can anyone help ????help

 

I'm not certain on this but, a good buddy of mine had a 99' Expedition and it didn't do that. I'll try to shoot him an email to confirm that... Sounds like a ground to me too.

I know my Expedition will still operate the windows and radio after the key is shut off and pulled out of the ignition until you open either front door. This function will work for about 8 - 10 minutes as long as the front doors haven't been opened.
