When do the '04 Expys' get the three valve?

We are thinking about trading in our '00 on a '04 Expy or Navi but when I looked yesterday at a '04 Expy it still had the two valve 5.4.

Does anyone know when the updated 5.4's are going to be installed?

I get a different answer every time I ask, so I'm just guessing, Ford will put the two valves in until they run out of the supply, then switch to the three valve. No knowing how big a pipline they may have of the 2 valve engines, who knows when that will happen. I just can't imagine that Ford would still be manufacturing the two valve. Not much of an answer, sorry! I too want a new one with the three valve engine.

They better get a move on. The Nissan Pathfinder Armada is no slouch.

I read somewhere that the '04s will not get the 3v motor. It was originally going to be late availability, but they changed that based on limited capacity and the desire to keep dropping them into F150s instead.

The most current info is that it is not slated for the 04's, but the reality is, if they don't continue to manufacture the 2 valves, can't imagine Ford would, when the supply is gone, the 3 valve engines will probably, quietly just go in. May only be the last month of 04 production, may not be until the 05's are out, who knows! I do know, I will continue to drive my 99 until the 3 valve is available, or if something else looks appealing, while waiting, Ford may lose a customer.
