I did this to my Expi with Anco(?) Teflon blades. It works great.

I use the Anco's from WalMart. Change every 6 months due to the UV rays here deteriorating the rubber. Also a fan of Rain-X. Works great and don't use the wipers as much.

Have you looked at the PIAA wiper blades. Pretty expensive but they are also Teflon I think and come with a lubricant or surfactant of some sort that you put on the windshield in conjunction with thier wipers. We get alot of rain up here, but the wipers do last along time. Must be the lack of UV rays I guess.

RAIN-X

I am a firm believer in the Rain-X product. Many times I do not even need wipers ... the water is rushing off the windshield. It will cretainly help your wipers last longer.

Thumbs up PIAA Wipers

The PIAA blades are silicone and cost more than regular blades but they dont make a noise and work better than any blades Ive ever bought. First you wash the windshield really good , than you wipe it with a small wipe they give you. Let dry for 10 mins...buff it and put on the new blades. With all this rain we been getting the have gotten a work out! Still work great and are suppose to last longer.
