Exhaust with 3" body lift???

I am preparing to install my 3" PA Body lift, and wondered if anyone did anything to raise the stock exhaust up so it didn't look funny, after installing a body lift? I just don't want the stock exhaust hanging down there by itself. Can I just rebend one or more of the mounting brackets?

Eventually I will put duals out the back and that should fix everything. But for now I was looking for a quick fix. TIA

Kory

The exhaust is hung from the body. So, when you raise the body, the exhaust also goes up.

kev is right. It is hung from the frame. I have a 6" suspension lift with a 3" body lift. The pipes stayed low. I installed headers and come of the cat. conv. with ture duals ( no muffler). Sounds great, increased MPG & Power and have had no problems!

That is true. But I would still be driving around with the stock height and those tiny original tires if it weren't for these body lifts. 1/10th the price for almost the same looks as the 4" rancho or 5" rcd. I may not have the full off road capabilities of the suspension lift guys but I still improved my off road abilities by 200%. I have no complaints here.

Looks great Kev. I sure understand the money issue. I'm reluctant to do a lift because as soon as I do I won't be able to get the truck in the garage without doing a mod on the door
What make/model of body lift did you use.....how high?

Understand the garage thing. I fit my truck in the garage with the lift and original tires. But as soon as I put on the mudders, there was no way. I have the standard 7' garage door. Oh well my wife won't let me have her bay anyways and my bay is filled with a car that I am fully restoring. So this truck will sit in the driveway all its life.

The lift is a Performance Accessories 3" body lift. $125 at summitracing.com and it showed up in one day.

Did body lift come with a kit to raise the rear bumper? My 94 f150 looks a little funny for now with the rear bumper at normal height. Is there an easy way to raise it?

THe PA body lift for the 97 - up F150s comes with the bumper brackets only for the 3" kit. The 2" kit does not.

You could probably measure out and drill new holes in either your bumper or frame where the bumper mounts to lift up the bumper. I have heard of a few members on here do this when using the 2" kit on a 97-up Ford and the bumper looked perfect. I don't know about an earlier models though.

The exhaust wont look to bad probably wont even be noticable with just stock pipe...i wouldnt mess with it if youre gonna put a dual system on it in the future.
