Need help picking out a muffler

I'm thinking about a pair or Magnaflows- which ones would suit me best?

I do some towing, so back pressure is uber important. I'm thinking 2 1/4"? With a Magnaflow X upstream. I have a shop that sells all this stuff near by. I just want to be able to tell "the man" what I want with confidence.

The plan is 2 SI/SO, round, but should I get the stainless, XL turbo, or... This is where the opinoins of others count, and maybe some personal experiences.

Why do you want two single muflers? Maganflow offers true dual in dual out with built in crossover (x-pipe). Much cheaper, about $110 vs. 2x$80 + $65 x-pipe. Stick with 2.5" in/out and you'll be fine as the stock piping is 2.5".

You want the straight through stainless, not the XL Turbo. Depending on how loud you want it, the larger the quieter. Something like the #14586, cut the factory Y-pipe and run new lines to the DIDO muffler, new tail pipes after the muffler. Also, might as well just take Magnaflows dual pipes as well. They run about $80 for the pair, mandrel bent at the right spots for a quick and clean install. But they are aluminized so may not last too long if you encounter a lot of salt.

Before you commit to your local supplier, consult the prices at www.bigexhaust.com. I bet they are much cheaper even after shipping than what your guy can get.
