I've always heard if you're going to be pulling a trailer alot to get the pipes out each side instead of straight out the back. Getting them out the sides is also the best if you go offroad alot or do any four wheeling.

Cheapest would be to cut your t-pipe and put both front pipes into a dual in muffler, then dual 2.25 pipes out the back sides.

You've probably seen my setup before elsewhere in the forums, you can see a how-to of my system with sound clips on www.fordf150.net .

Sound is very subjective. What sounds good to you may not sound good to someone else.

You can find a lot of sound clips at www.dynomax.com and www.flowmastermufflers.com and maybe some of the other manufacturer's sites.

Personally I went with flowmaster y-pipe and flowmaster 3" piping with a dynomax ultra-flo welded 3" single in/out muffler. I like it, you may not. With the y-pipe mod I didn't notice any loss in torque, gain perhaps. Top end pulls harder.

Try visiting some of the local performance shops to see if any employees/owners are driving F-150's, usually they have an aftermarket exhaust system on it. Ask for a listen.

Dual exhaust gives your truck a nice look. But somehow I do not believe it enhances the performance of your vehicle at all. It just makes it sound louder depending on the tips.

Adding duals will add a little bit to the preformance of your truck but will give it a very big cool sound factor either way you gain preformance and great sound.

I particularly see a lot of Chevys, and Dodge trucks with dual exhaust on their automatics . I really like the standard pipe but the dual exhaust is a nice feature. Nice, standard tips is the way to go. How much does it cost to form dual exhaust?
