Go with a flo-pro. When i first got my truck it had a single in, dual out flo pro muffler. It is not loud, but has a nice tone to it. It's basically a cheaper version of a flowmaster

Thumbs up Buy the Flowmaster

I am very partial to my exhaust for the same reasons you are looking for a muffler. I have the 80 series and it is very throaty when taking off and at low RPM's but it is really not much louder than stock on the highway and my exhaust is louder than your's will be due to the fact that mine comes out the side in front of the rear wheels.

You could get a Walker Quiet-Flow muffler, Walker also makes Dynomax. The Quiet-Flow is considered a direct replacement OEM style muffler and not a performance muffler, Walker claims it out flows OEM mufflers by up to 30% with out an increase in noise. I had one on my 00 Silverado and really liked it but took it off after a while. I had a big MPG drop for a while and thought it was the Walker, turns out it wasn't, I should have left it on. The muffler I used had a single 3" inlet and dual 2.25" outlets. It had a nice burble when the truck was started then qot quiet while driving around town and was dead quiet on the freeway. I had no loss of low end with the Quiet-Flow, in fact, I believe it helped. It looks like a standard muffler, nothing fancy. According to Walker, it's the internal design that makes it flow better than stock. Napa auto parts carries them, Walker has a website, here's the link. www.walkerexhaust.com. If that one doesn't work, try this www.tenneco-automotive.com , then click Walker in the brand drop down window. I may use one on my 03 Super Crew when I get it.

Gibson makes a cat-back exhaust called the split-rear cat-back. It's quiet, looks good, and not to much louder than stock. And it's a bolt-on kit with everything you need. Go to the Gibson Performance website and check em' out. You might see something else you like.

I just got a flowmaster 40 delta Si/Do with magnaflow SS tips installed on my 2002 5.4 lariat 4X4 and ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT

After hearing comparisons and opinions from members it seemed like the majority liked flowmaster. That's why I went with it.

I beleive it's everything your looking for!!!
