New muffler for 5.4 SuperDuty.

Hey guys,

Wanted to know what would be a good, loud (but not too loud) SI/SO 3" muffler for my 2002 SuperDuty 5.4v8. Had a dual catback setup on my old 97 f150 using a SI/DO Flo-Pro muffler which I really liked the sound of.

Leaning towards the Flo-Pro or the FlowMaster DF40, DF50 or 50SUV. Can't decide. Tests have shown Flo-Pro flowing better than Flowmaster. Do the Flowmsters have a problem rusting out quickly? Flo-Pro is All welded and aluminized Steel not sure about Flowmaster.

What do you all, have/had/seen/like/dis-like.

Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest a stainless steel muffler. I've seen aluminized mild steel rust out from the inside in 2 years. If you want high flow, check out a straight-through or modified straight-through design. Try Dynomax Ultra-flow SS (2200cfms in 3"), Magnaflow, Borla, or Edelbrock. If you want loud and throaty, I can vouch for the Ultra-flow.
