Should I go with no mufflers

I'm redoing my exhaust to true duals because it's just not loud enough for me. I don't know whether to go with glasspacks or straights.

If I run glasspacks:
2" pipe
H-pipe
$300

If I run straights:
1-7/8" pipe (for backpressure)
H-pipe
$250

Both prices include 24"x3.5" chrome tips.

Any thoughts?

if you want loud go with straights. i had 18" glass packs and cut them out and went with straights. i have 2" pipe and if i was to do it over again i would go 1 7/8 pipe with no tips. Tips mellow the rap sound you have.

I have a 97 F150 4.6L, in which I originally went with a 3" single Gibson cat back. Wasn't loud enough, so I replaced the Gibson muffler with a 33" section of 3", (kept the rest of the Gibby exhaust). Sounds sweet...

I am running straights right now. I have it true dualed, it is 2.5" pipes to my tailpipe then my tailpipes are 2.25". I have not lost any torque and gained quite a bit of power in the 2-3,500 rpm range.

I don't know what year of a pickup you are talking or what motor you have so fill us in. That'll help us to help you.

Straights

Run the straight pipes if you want the volume. These 4 cat exhaust systems are just too quiet.

I'm running 2.25" all the way to my tips turned out behind each rear wheel into tips. If I remember correctly, they are 4"x20" or so. SOUNDS REAL NICE...btw, I've got an 02 with the 5.4L. My prev truck was a 99 with the 4.6L and the same exhaust setup. They sounded almost identical.

Hope this helps

I am thinking about getting no muffler, tell me why this would get annoying on not true duals.
