Concerns with aftermarket exhaust voiding FORD warranty?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but an aftermarket exhaust will void the factory warranty?
Are people anxious to add an aftermarket exhaust, but nervous about this?

It will not void your warranty.

Really? I don't mean to sound rediculous, but is this in writing somewhere? How can I be assured that it does not void the warranty?

THANKS!

Cool

You can verify with your dealer, but for the most part there are laws that say you can't be denied warranty service UNLESS the aftermarket piece is proven to have caused the failure of that part.

So, what this means, is that you put on an aftermarket exhaust system, then your radio goes out. Ford cannot say that since you put on an aftermarket exhaust system you can't get your raido fixed under warranty.

Now, if your new exhaust system burns a hole in your factory shock cover, which can happen, because it's actually plastic!! and you try to have the shock replaced under warranty, they can say no, because it's not the stock pipe that caused the burn.

Even if your motor should happen to develope the infamous "slap", they would have to prove that the aftermarket exhaust caused it. Very unlikely to be the case.

Still, you should verify all of this with the dealer that you would take your truck to for any warranty service. They'll be the ones you'll be dealing with, not me......

Bernie-

Mitch is correct. Do a search for The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act here. Basically, they're not going to warrant the parts of your exhaust that you replace.
