Flowmasrer Muffler ?

A while back on this forum (I believe) I saw a thread where a guy put just a flowmaster muffler on his truck. Just the muffler... can anyone tell me if they have done this? If so, does it just bolt on replaceing the oe muffler?

Jim

I had a muffler shop cut out the Ford stock muffler and weld in a Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 on the stock pipes for my 2001 SCrew/5.4 L. Paid less than $150 for a professional installation. Didn't lose low end torque (yes, I pull a trailer occasionally). Gained about 1 mpg on the highway.

Here it is.

Wildchild, I installed one last week and I'm impressed. The noise level is very acceptible in the cab at highway speed, but quite deep when you get on it.

thanks roden. i'm looking for something with good sound but no loss in low end power. will probably be awhile before any changes are made yet. just got truck and want to give a good shake down first for any immediate warranty issues. don't even want to have to think about dealing with techs blaming my exhaust for the stereo going out or vice versa.

Just make sure your pipes are the same size as stock, to make sure that not too much backpressure is lost...
