I just got done putting two 18x3.5inch tips straight out of my flowmaster 40 series muffler and it sounds great! Before i just had dual 2.5 inch exits out the side near wheel with 3.5 inch tips but saw my friends chevy with tips straight out of muffler. After hearing that i bought two tips and put them straight out of the muffler with clamps but i'm going to get them welded during the week. Compared to the pipes and the samll tips it had the 18'' tips give it a louder and rumble to it! it's kinda cool!

 

sounds good. does it make it resonate in the cab at all? or does it do that anyways.lol.

 

If the tips are under your truck the exaust gases will rust the bottom of your truck out fast. just my 2 cents

 

it has a very deep echo im the cab that regular flowmaster and is alot louder. the exhaust smoke doesn't make it inside the cab if that's what you mean. I don't know if it will rust the bottom of the truck i've never heard anything like that but anyways they'res a stock heat shield right where the tips come out!

 

mr2x75 means that the exhaust gases that come out of your pipes will condense on the bottom of your truck and slowly eat the steel away(rust). When the exhaust gases and moisture mix, they create a very toxic substance that will eat just about anything. This is why mufflers and tailpipes rust out, they rust from the inside, not the outside. Granted it won't happen immediately, but it will happen eventually. I say have fun with it!

 

Be very careful if you tips do not stick out the back, the gasses can very easily come back in the cab, and I believe its illegal in many states....not very safe man

 

ya there is a reason that trucks come with tailpipes. cause the exhaust burns the body and it will eat it away eventually.
