Exhaust Opinions

Well my stock exhaust is getting pretty ratty and I don't expect it to last another season. So I have been entertaining the following idea:

I want a FM 40 series delta flow for sure, I have heard trucks with these mufflers and I love the sound. However, I was thinking about true duals, 2.5in, coming from the old y-pipe into a dual in/out FM 40 muffler and out the back with no H or X pipe. What do you guys think about this?

Other option is just the Y-pipe mod into 3" into si/do FM40.

Please post your opinions. I can be talked into an H pipe but I don't want to buy two mufflers, I think that is just a waste of money. I wouldn't mind an increase in power but it isn't necessary. (If I wanted a race truck, I wouldn't have lifted this one and installed 35s, hehe) But, I definetly don't want a decrease in power from changing the exhaust!

Thanks in advance,

kev

Go with the h-pipe and 2 mufflers, or no mufflers. Use resonated tips. The h-pipe will help keep a resonable amount of back pressure and even out the exhaust pulse.

Or, I remember seeing a single in double out FM muffler somewhere, not sure where

Stay with the SI/DO set-up. You'll keep more backpressure than with true duals. And the Flowmaster 40 Delta-Flow is a good choice for a muffler.
