Question Reset Computer???

I just installed my Pacesetter Predator 3" cat back exhaust system and am installing a FIPK in the next few days. Do I need to reset the engine computer? If not how long does it take to adjust itself to the new equipment?

Cool AZDesertRat-

Your computer will be reset when you disconnect the battery for the FIPK install. You should disconnect for general safety reasons and to work with the sensors.

just make sure you keep your battery disconnected at least 20 minutes.

Without the reset, it would take the computer too long to re-learn and could log some errors.

If you want to reset it (not a big deal, it'll relearn in a couple hindred miles or so) disconnect the negative battery cable, trun on your headlights (it'll drain any transient voltage) let it sit for a few minutes like that, 5 would be more than enough, then turn the headlight switch OFF first, again, turn the headlight switch OFF first, then reconnect the negative battery cable.

Good luck!
