V6 Dual Exhaust ????
I am looking to add a couple of things to my 2002 f150 SC 4.2 V6 and would like some suggestions.
First, is a K&N filter. Pretty simple. Any comments on this one.
Second, is a dual exhaust. The purpose for this one is to boost my hp and mpg, not to make my truck LOUD. Not that there is anything wrong with a loud truck, but I am not looking to turn heads with the sound of my truck, especially when cruising on the interstate.
I don't know where to begin on the exhaust. I need suggestions, price ranges, firsthand experience, etc. I have been looking around and I see a lot of systems for the v-8's but not for the v-6.
I have never modified anything before and need all the help I can get.
Thanks for any help.

After many inquiries and with the advise of the local muffler shop (Meineke), here is what Santa did for my son's 98 F150 4.2 V6 yesterday.
1) Flowmaster 40 series - delta flow - single in dual out -dual chamber muffler.
2) Pipe is 3" short piece in and 2 1/4" dual tailpipes straight out the rear to each side of the spare tire.
3) 22 inch tips - 3 1/2 inch diameter
The sound is awesome and much better than either of us ever expected to get out of a V6. There is no noticable loss of power in fact it seems like it may have more HP.

If ya want quiet power...
Gibson Swept Side SI/DO is the way to go. While I think my new Gibson setup is quieter than stock, when I put my foot into it, I get the growl I was looking for.
I think that NattyBumpo would also back me up on this...
