Lightning Exhaust!!!

Do any of you guys know if i can install a 2000 Lightning exhaust into my 1998 F150? My F150 is a 4.2 V6, single cab, flareside. I would really appreciate it if any of you guys can tell me if it can be done with minimal hassle? Any advice? Answers? If it is possible will i have to get custom pipes? If so what do you think the cost might be like? Thanks guys.

it would probably be easiest to just let a shop build you a custom setup.

Thing is i can get the lightnign exhaust cheaper. I would love to have them build me a custom exhaust but that can run me like $400. I was thinking of just buying a used exhaust and getting it installed. And have some money left over for other mods.

i would say that the pipe is going to be different size for one.
Then depending on if it comes with the hangers you will have to make, buy, or get someone to make those.
Not sure how it would sound on the six. I have heard that the gibson supertruck sounds good on the 6. You can get it for under $300. And it looks really good with the square side exit tips. Or if you are strapped for cash I heard of Heartthrob cat back system. I havent ever seen or heard it but they say it is a decent product. I think it comes with daul stainless side exit tips.It is about $189 in JC Whitney. You can install both of these yourself easily. Just a couple thoughts for ya.

Thanks for the suggestions man. I just want the one from the lightning because it will come out at the exact location as the one the lightning has. I want to purchase a lightning side skirts kit a little later and the bumper and it would be best if the exhaust tips came out of the same location as teh lightnings so i would not need to modify the side skirts in any way. But I will look at what jcwhitney has for my truck. They seem to have the best prices and very good products.

Yeah the heartthrob system looks perfect for my truck but it says that they are for V8s. I love the way it looks though. Too bad its for V8s. The Gibson looks very nice but it comes out after the rear wheel.

The Gibson Supertruck comes out before the rear wheel.

And as for the heartthrob being for 8's I always heard that Gibson was actually built for 6's but look how many people love them on there 8's. That was just my nickels worth. Thanks

Thanks man. I went to the Gibson site and found that you were right. They do fit the V6. One problem is that for the V6 it comes out after the rear tire. Thats what it says for the V6. Maybe its different for a V8. It says they also make it louder by 7 to 8 decibils. Thats always good. 2 Bad it comes out after the rear wheel.

I just checked out Truckperformance.com and they say they offer the supertruck on the V6 and that it exits out the side. If you are interested in that you may want to give them a call. It was $289.

Thanks man. My exhaust will have to wait. I was planning on getting the exhaust today but I will prob buy altezzas or a lightnign bumper cover. I will wait to get my exhaust because i want to get the lighning side skirts first so i can see which exhaust i can make fit. Thanks for the suggestions though. Its just that I saw someone selling their lightning exhaust so i asked the question. Thanks for the help and the advice.
