Gibson SS exhaust

I just ordered this for my truck. Can't wait to get it on. Heard many great things about it. I tow a 30ft travel Trailer, So I could use a little extra torque and HP!

Best Performance?

I sent e-mail to Gibson asking which system offered the best performance. Here's their reply:

SINGLE SIDE EXIT-
This kit is the ultimate power-producing performance exhaust for
towing, and pulling power. Nice deep throaty sound at the tailpipe but
still quiet inside the cab. Follows O.E.routing and exits in stock
location with a large polished stainless tip. The part number you will
need is # 319608 for aluminized or # 619608 for stainless steel. This
system will give your truck about 10 to 12 hp. and about 25 ft. pounds
of torque to the rear wheels.

What I don't understand is that I would've thought that the SuperTruck exhaust would be better because it has two pipes exiting the muffler and has shorter pipes. Are they claiming that the longer single pipe from the Swept Side exhaust is better because the truck _needs_ the additional backpressure?

I also have the Sweptside. I like it ,but just could be a tad louder.
Does anyone know off hand if all the Gibson muffler's are the same , but just have different outlet's to them ? It would be nice to put a diff. muffler on if it was a little louder. The tech dude at Gibson told me to turn the muffler around if I wanted a little more noise. Has anyone done this ????

My exhaust must have shifted a bit because it's touching my spare tire. It's been like this for a while and I never had time to mess with it and now it's winter here and about 5 degrees so I am not going to screw with it until it warm's up or I take it to the shop & have them do it. It has not even left a mark on my spare tire though .

Later....Mike
