Dual Exhaust

Are there any issues having a dual exhaust installed in a 2019 Platinum 3.5EB witt the 36 gallon tank? Is there room? I'm not looking for 'performance' duals/pipes, just functional and cosmetic and I can't do the job.

Not in the traditional sense of running a true dual setup with mirror image pipes running under the truck like back in the 50's, 60s', 70's, 80's..

Even on my old 97 F150, there was no way to run pipes like that. Too much stuff on the drivers side inside the frame rails. Just crawl under your truck and look for yourself. Ain't gonna work..

At best, you'd have to run the dual pipes where the OEM pipe runs until you get near the back and then you can run some tail pipes up and over the axle and route around the spare tire and.....

But, why??

If all you want is 2 tips coming out the back, just get a dual outlet "cat back" system and that's usually just a single in, dual out muffler and the tail pipes snaked around the axle and spare tire.

What are your goals in such an endeavor?

Mitch,

Strictly for 'balance' and cosmetics is my want from behind the rear wheels each side..

I think your quote is what I am referring to:

Are there kits offered by anyone that you know of before I do a search? Ford accessory? Borla. etc?

Just about any muffler manufacturer has these bolt on kits. Depends on your sound preference and budget.. The new Eco Raptors have a dual outlet OEM exhaust setup. No idea on how you would get one, but it probably would not be cheap.. Most of the aftermarket 'dual' exhaust systems I've heard for the Eco I don't care for... Personal preference of course, but I've had loud dual exhaust systems in my youth (all V8's)... I'm over that now.. 2 chrome tips coming out the back of a truck... Well, again, personal preference..

I just put a black dual tip on my OEM exhaust, ha, ha!

Mitch,

Thank you and perhaps I wasn't entirely clear again: I don't want anything but OEM 'sound,' no growl or loud mufflers, this is my "Senior car." I looked at Borla, they want your first born along with their fine products and Ford doesn't offer any OEM dual setup like Chevy does. I think in the end your solution is best. Where did you get you black dual tip?

Gotcha now, thanks... Yeah, most of the aftermarket is for "sound" and so called "performance", Take it for whatever it's worth either way..

My OEM chrome tip just turned black and all pitted and would not clean up, so went with this from Amazon of course...

Not cheap, but what the heck! Only real complaint on it is the powder coat burned off pretty quick. After the first tow with my TT, it burned off the PC at the Y part. After later trips, the tips started to lose it as well..

I've just sprayed on some black BBQ paint on it, but even that burns off!

I did the install myself with a stainless muffler strap, but it would be better to have it welded on. I had to cut off about 6" or so of the original tailpipe, but no big deal.

I still like it and just spray it with the BBQ paint when it burns off! ha, ha!

I"m still running the OEM exhaust system and I like how quiet it is, even towing. Here is what I'm towing now...

Local pipe bending shop, they can add a Y at rear of OEM muffler & plumb tips to your liking. It'll stay OEM quiet.

The OEM exhaust is actually pretty low restriction - having a muffler shop do a "Y" and run pipes to your specs would be a good solution.
