It's here!

It's all going on my 2008 5.4L. The quality is second to none on these longtubes. The tips are Stainless Works 2.5" inlet, 4" outlet double wall. I love the profile. The muffler was supposed to be a 2.5" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet. The part number corresponds to that, but they stuffed the 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet in the box. The Y-pipe that comes with the longtubes is 2.5" in/out, so I may have to order up a Maggie 2.5" in/ 3" out. Those are 4.5" center to center, the same as the Stainless Works kit.

Wow stainless Worx really has their Y pipe really far back. OBX has it right in place of factory.. But you're going to love the sound. I know I love my Borla with long tubes.

So I did end up ordering the MagnaFlow 2.5" in/ 3" out stainless steel Y-pipe. Part number 10778. Should be here in a few days, and I'm hoping to have this all in by next weekend. We'll see.

This should be interesting

So the headers are getting installed tuesday. I'm having it done at a local Ford dealer. Their rates were comparable with shops near me, and with no less than 5 studs already broken, and surely more to pop, who knows better working on a 5.4 than the Ford techs? Problem is they don't do custom exhaust work. They will install the headers, high flow cats, down pipes and the Maggie 2.5" to 3" y pipe using the supplied clamps and then they will tack weld everything.

But that's all they'll put on

So when I pick it up I'll have longtubes and a y pipe, and then I'll have to drive about 1/2 hour to my preferred exhaust shop. I think it might be a bit loud and if any police are near me I might feel like getting there.

Should be a fun ride, huh?

Put a big ole resonator on maybe? I think you'll be ok. Nothing is louder than an LS with open headers. 5.4L isn't an overly loud motor and with cats you should be okay while baby feathering the pedal.

Got it back, headers, cats and you pipe installed. Loud isn't the word. This think sounds angry! I'll be putting the pro xs on in a few days, but I don't know if that'll quiet it down enough. Only real issue is the o2 extensions that came with the kit don't have the slots aligned like on the factory harnesses, so I gotta get those swapped out. I'll try to get videos asap.
