I've got an 05 Screw with the 5.4 engine. When first purchased a local exhaust shop put a custom system on it using a dual in/dual out Flowmaster 40 series and for the past ten years I have been very pleased with it. Now it's time to replace the system but I would like to quiet things down a bit.
Just looking for recommendations on a muffler, not a complete bolt on system and would like to keep a little of the rumble just not as much as I currently have. Looked at Flowmaster's site and thinking the 50 series might work but don't know anyone with any first hand experience with it.
Thanks for any input.

Personally I'd go with a Borla Pro-X muffler they have some that are DI/DO with an internal X pipe. Very nice tone and can be aggressive depending size of muffler and other things done to the truck. I have been a fan of flowmasters on modular engines.
That's funny, my son just had the same recommendation even though neither of us have had any experience with the Borla systems. Only mods to the engine is the GOTTS intake so any suggestion on which Borla ?
Here are the di/do mufflers Borla has. I had ones on my 02 about this size and they had decent rumble. https://www.borla.com/products/proxs...ndual_out.html

After watching everyone's videos the thing I notice about the Borla is you don't get that "Cowboy Cackle" when it lets off at high rpm. Thanks for the input guys, I am seriously leaning at going the Borla route.
