True duals ??

I own a 2011 FX4 and I'm looking for some more power from the exhaust end. Has anyone installed or custom built a true dual exhaust (with x pipe) on a newer FX4 ??

Exhaust won't make power and true duals won't help it out much. Been there done that.

Longtube headers are the main exhaust mod to help with power increase, and that is mainly if you have it custom tuned properly for it.

An aftermarket air intake won't help either, if anything it worsens performance as it is not true cold air, and a custom tune is the best bang for your buck mod for these trucks.

I find my single 3" system with dual 2.5" tails sounds as good and performs better down low than my dual X piped 2.5" system did on my 2004.

You aren't going to get any more power with a custom exhaust, just more noise. The stock system is low restriction straight through. You may even lose power with true duals due to poor scavenging. If you do it, you do not want chambered mufflers and you must use a X-pipe. If you just want more noise, save your money and delete the resonator.

Thanks for the info. It's been helpful and I believe it's saved me some bucks.
