Help with exhaust on new truck

Hey everybody. I just purchased a new to me 2006 f150 super crew with the 5.4. It has an exhaust system already on it that I do not like at all so I'm wanting to change it up. I've been out of the f150 game for a while so I came to get advice from the experts. On my old 2003 f150 4.6 I had a 3" cat back system with the bottom cats removed and high flow cats installed in place of the upper cats, dynomax race magnum muffler round muffler, side exit behind the rear tire with a 5" tip. I am wanting a similar set up for the 2006 and have been reading and reading on the forum trying to put a system together and need a little advice.
1-On the 2006 can I remove the bottom cats without throwing a code or do I need a tuner?
2-high flow cats for the upper cats worth it? I've read the stock ones are high flow.
3- I've seen lots of people do a new y pipe is it better to buy one or have the exhaust shop just piece it together?
4- 3" good for these trucks or should I just stick with 2.5"
5- I loved the sound of my dynomax race magnum on my old truck but when I search the race magnum two different mufflers come up. There is the bullet and the ultraflo welded round muffler both being called race magnum what's the difference?
6- any other muffler recommendations.
Open to any suggestions and or advice. Thanks for any help.
